B. MICHAEL KORTE is the author of Missouri Practice Vol. 29, Workers Compensation Law and Practice, a leading authority on Missouri work comp law.
Mr. Korte has been named one of the United States’ Top 100 workers’ compensation attorneys by the Workers’ Injury Law and Advocacy Group, a nationwide bar association of lawyers specializing in all forms of workmans’ compensation cases.
Mr. Korte received the Distinguished Workers’ Compensation Lawyer Award for 2009 presented by the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis and Kid’s Chance, Inc., of Missouri, in recognition of his lifetime achievements in Missouri workers’ compensation.
Mr. Korte has been listed in Martindale-Hubbell’s Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers, and has an A.V. rating from that organization Mr. Korte previously served as president of the Missouri Association of Trial Attorneys, a statewide bar association of Missouri’s best trial lawyers, and has been awarded its Outstanding Service Award.
Mr. Korte frequently lectures statewide at seminars sponsored by the Missouri Division of Workers’ Compensation, bar associations, and other groups. He has served as the chair of the Missouri Bar Association Workers’ Compensation Committee and as President of Kids’ Chance, Inc., a workers compensation charity.
Mr. Korte earned B.S. and J.D. degrees from the University of Missouri. He formerly served as President of Kids' Chance, Inc. of Missouri, a charitable organization which awards college and vocational scholarships to children of workers who die in work-related accidents. Mr. Korte currently serves as President of the Board of Directors of Bridgeway Behavioral Health, Inc., and has served as an officer and member of the boards of directors of many other professional, civic, charitable and religious organizations.
