If you’re smart enough to stash a disguise after being bold enough to stage a holdup by literally HOLDING UP a bullet, don’t forget to take your ID out of the clothes you dump when you don the disguise.
From STL Today:
Sometimes all you need is a bullet.
That’s apparently all a robbery suspect had when he recently robbed a BP gas station in Jefferson County, authorities say.
The holdup man walked into a BP station south of Festus wearing a yellow hooded sweatshirt and cloth skull mask, authorities said. He approached the clerk and held out a bullet in his left hand, demanding cash and claiming he had a weapon in his pocket.
The clerk gave him some money, and the suspect ran out toward the woods south of the gas station. In the woods, investigators found a change of clothing apparently hidden by the suspect — or so they figured after finding an ID card with his name on it there. The fortuitous discovery helped detectives him track down, and he was charged Monday with first-degree robbery, and jailed on a $30,000 bail.
authorities aren’t sure if robber actually had a gun in his pocket during the robbery.
